SPRING 2017 Semester - JANUARY 29 - APRIL 23

Groups are integral to all that we do at ALIVE Wesleyan.

As our church grows larger on Sunday, we grow smaller during the week. Groups are a great way to meet new friends, grow in your relationship with God and make a difference. We encourage everyone to be involved in some type of Group on a weekly basis, and invite your friends to join you!

What is a Group?

Groups at ALIVE are 15 or so people who get together each week in order to grow, have fun, learn about the Bible and meet new people.

How long do Groups meet?

Groups at ALIVE meet on a semester basis to allow for easy start and finish points. Semesters also provide you the opportunity to explore and join different groups throughout the year. Your Study Group will meet once a week for 1-2 hours for one semester (10-12 weeks).

We have three types of groups at ALIVE:

Study Groups - Study Groups are ALIVE's groups of 15 or so people who meet each week to grow in their faith, meet new people and just have fun. Each group leader chooses his or her own scripture-based study. Groups may choose to discuss the sermon series or select a specific bible study, Christian literature/book, or a relevant life issue.

Serve Groups - Sometimes the best thing we can do to grow in our faith is unselfishly serve and meet the needs of others. Our Serve Groups give you the opportunity to do just that. Sign up for a semester of giving back, serve side-by-side with others from our church, and make a difference.

Recreation (Rec) Groups - Most of us spend too much time working and studying - and not enough time playing. Rec Groups are fun, activity-based groups and an easy way to check out ALIVE, meet new people, and just have a good time.

When and where do Groups meet?

Groups meet all throughout the week in homes, and a few meet on the church campus. Specific locations and times will be given out during the sign up period.

How can I be sure that there is a Group for me?

We have Groups in Belton, Central, Clemson, Seneca, Six Mile, and Norris, so there should be one close to you. Once you sign up, the Group Leader will contact you with the specific address of the Group's meeting place.

A variety of Groups allows you to choose your topic to study, along with those who share life experiences similar to yours.

There are women's groups, men's groups, couples' groups, parenting groups, college groups, service groups, recreation groups, prayer groups, and of course, general groups for anyone!

What about children?

Childcare varies by group. Each group decides how to creatively address this need.

Group sign ups open August and January. To learn more about groups or sign up for one outside of sign-up dates, contact Justine Tegen at
